Why Are We Buying Whiteboards?

Ten years ago, Holy Ghost began the practice of “covering” chalk boards with shower boards to eliminate the dust generated from using chalk. The goal was to replace these every two years, but the current set has not been replaced for the past four years. Given the school-wide need to project work from as well as on to the boards, these boards are not an inexpensive substitute for a white board; they are inadequate and need to be replaced with a real white board that erases and has significantly less glare and a longer useful life.

Our campaign started earlier this year when we received a $5,000 grant from the Catholic Foundation. Since then, we have been working diligently to spread the word to all of our benefactors, alumni, and all families and friends of Holy Ghost Catholic School. To date, we have replaced 14 whiteboards in our middle school, preschool and STEM Lab classrooms.
