Throughout the school year our students are given opportunities to serve in the community by attending service learning field trips. Our 8th graders went on a service learning field trip to the Tijeras Arroyo where they spent time installing trail signs, digging trenches to stabilize hills and prevent erosion and planting grass seeds. Our 6th and 7th grade students went on a service learning field trip to clear brush along trails at Pueblo Montano Picnic Area and Trailhead that is maintained by the City of Albuquerque Open Space!
We started the school year with a service learning project. This morning, approximately 50 cases of water bottles were delivered to Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless. We found that due to COVID the homeless had nowhere to get water.
