Hello, Holy Ghost Families. We hope that you had the opportunity to read the letter sent out to parents from Susan Murphy, Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of Santa Fe. As stated in the letter, the Archdiocese is planning for Catholic schools to reopen for the 2020-2021 school year on Monday, August 17. Planning is underway at Holy Ghost Catholic School as well to implement systems and protocols designed to ensure student and staff safety.
Dear Parents and Guardians, I want to update you on our plans for the 2020-21 school year. At this time our plan is to open all of the Catholic Schools on August 17, 2020. The Re-opening Task Force is developing Archdiocesan level guidance that all schools will follow. We are continuing to follow the guidance from the CDC as well as the governor of New Mexico. Each school has also been provided with a document titled “Leading With Hope” developed by the Andrew M. Greeley Center for Catholic Education-School of Education, Loyola University of Chicago that provides Catholic schools with a template for planning re-opening at the local school level.
We are pleased to announce two new teachers will be joining our HGCS community. Both teachers have experience in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe as well as time in Catholic schools in other states, giving us new perspectives and ideas to add to our faculty.
