Holy Ghost Catholic School is proud to be named a "Blue Ribbon School of Excellence" by the U.S. Department of Education. The first criteria for this award in 2009 was for our 8th grade class to score in the top 10 % of all schools across the nation in math and reading, as mesured on a standardized test, the Iowa Test of Basic Skills. Acording to the parameters established for this award, private, non-public schools, including Holy Ghost Catholic School, are held to a higher standard than public schools.
Every year before Lent begins Holy Ghost families get together to celebrate this authentic Mardi Gras celebration in the school gym. Also included is a 10K Raffle and wonderful food served by our students and parents!
Holy Ghost students attended the Catholic School's Mass during Catholic School's Week at the Cathedral Basillica of St. Francis on Thursday February 4, 2016. With Catholic school's from all across the Archdiocese to celebrate the wonderful gift of Catholic Education!
