Welcome and Thank You for Visiting Our Holy Ghost Website!
On behalf of the community of Holy Ghost Catholic School, I would like to welcome you and your family. Still, you are only visiting us virtually and to experience the care and warmth of our community in this rigorous academic environment, you should visit in person.
In 2009, Holy Ghost Catholic School became the first Catholic school in New Mexico to earn the U. S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon School of Excellence recognition. The school has continued its commitment to “Academic Excellence” and encourages continuous improvement by staff and students. Last year, we were only a couple of percentage points away from earning it again.
In 2019, Holy Ghost Catholic School became the first school in New Mexico, and the first Catholic school in the nation, to earn the National Certificate for STEM Excellence, a certification from the National Institute for STEM Education (NISE) in Houston. "STEM" refers to the academic disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and math.
To qualify for this award, a school must have at least five teachers earn the National Certificate for STEM Teaching. Ten Holy Ghost teachers earned this individual certification. Based on the professional development curriculum originally created at Rice University, these campus and individual certifications recognize the implementation of evidence-based STEM instructional categories.
In addition to strong academics, you will find that your child’s teachers care deeply and want your children and you to be part of our family. At Holy Ghost you will find a community of families who value Catholic education and a dedicated staff that promotes each child’s academic excellence, artistic expression, physical fitness, personal growth, and spiritual development.
In kindergarten, our students begin “to learn to serve others as Jesus did” by serving at home. Our older students serve others within the school, parishes, and greater Albuquerque area. Over the past nine years, our students have performed an average of over 7,000 hours of service annually, and several students have earned the national Presidential Service Award.
At Holy Ghost you will also find many opportunities for your child to develop his/her interests, skills and talents. Our students are involved in Band, Orchestra, Chess Club, Lego Club, Choir, Running Club, Magic Club, and Service in the Spirit Club and play volleyball, basketball, soccer, flag football, track and field, and softball on our teams.
We invite you to visit Holy Ghost Catholic School to take a tour of the school. Please call the school and we are happy to schedule a tour that meets your schedule. We are here to serve you and your family.
