What classes are offered at Holy Ghost School?
In addition to the daily schedule of math, language arts, science, reading, social studies, and religion, our students also participate in Spanish, art, music, physical education, computer, and library classes. We offer extracurricular activities such as intramural sports, orchestra, band, guitar club, Lego robotics club, magic club, and chess club.
How many students are in each class?
Our class size is determined by NM State regulations. Students in the primary grades have fewer students while intermediate and middle school classes may have more students. Middle school classrooms average 22-25 students. Kindergarten classes usually have 14-17 students.
What is the Admissions Policy?
Holy Ghost Catholic School welcomes students of all faiths. Priority is given to students whose families are registered parishioners of Holy Ghost Parish. Siblings of current students are also given priority.
Do we have a before or after school program for students?
The Woody Young Child Care Program is open from 6:45 – 7:50 a.m. and after school until 5:45 p.m. The qualified staff provides recreational experiences, craft activities, and homework-study time for students. At 7:40 a.m. students are escorted by the Woody Young Staff to the elementary building; middle school students are dismissed to go to their lockers and home room.
What time does school begin and end?
School begins at 7:50 a.m. when the first bell rings. Any student arriving before 7:40 a.m. will report to the Woody-Young Before School Program. School dismisses at 3:20 p.m.
Where can the school uniforms be purchased?
Uniforms may be purchased from Dennis School Uniforms at 5600-C San Francisco Rd., N.E. The store has a complete listing of items needed. Store hours: Tuesday-Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 2 :00 p.m. Phone: 505-897-7727. Online orders: www dennisuniform.com. Students in 5th – 8th grade also wear a P.E. uniform; available for sale in the school office. We have several “uniform swaps” during the school year.

What are the tuition costs for next year?
Rates for the 2020-2021 school yeare are as follows:

The above rates apply for Pre-K for 5 days/week. Tuition for Pre-K for 4 days/week is $4,985.00,
tuition for Pre-K for 3 days/week is $4,030.00 annually, and tuition for Pre-K for 2 days/week is $3,075.00 annually.
There is a $500.00 subsidy that is paid by Catholic parishes for families registered in their respective parishes for at least one year. The parish subsidy is a way for Catholic parishes to help support Catholic education. Those families who do not belong to a Catholic parish may either pay the subsidy by December 31st of the school year, or have it included in the monthly FACTs tuition payments.

Do you have any fundraisers?
Holy Ghost has three major required fundraisers: a stationery/gift wrap sale, a Walk-a-thon, and a $10,000 raffle during the annual Mardi Gras. Families are required to participate in fundraising activities or add the fundraising obligation to their annual tuition. If a family chooses to opt out of participating in either the Fall Festival (Halloween) and/or Mardi Gras, then the family is assessed a non-participation fee of $75.00 for these two events. The fundraising obligation is as follows: one child-$650.00, two children-$850.00, three children-$950.00, four or more children-$1,050.00
