Greetings,
My name is Nichole Dominguez-Chávez, and I am delighted to write this letter of introduction as the newly hired principal at Holy Ghost Catholic School. I am eager to be a part of the Holy Ghost Catholic School community, supporting staff, and working with families towards caring for your children and providing them with an opportunity for continual learning and success in STEM and all subject areas.
I arrive at Holy Ghost with extensive experience within the Archdiocese of Santa Fe Catholic school system and I am a firm believer of the lifelong benefits of Catholic education. I attended St. Charles Borromeo and graduated from St. Pius X High School in 1996. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (K-8) and a master’s Degree in Literacy, Language, and Sociocultural Studies, both from the University of New Mexico. I also earned a post master’s Ed.S. Educational Leadership Certificate (UNM), in Educational Administration, a Level II Teaching License, and a Level IIIB State of N.M. Administrative License. I have teaching and leadership experience in both the Catholic and public school sectors and have taught grades from preschool all the way through middle school. I look forward to using these collective experiences as your new principal at Holy Ghost.
I am a lifelong N.M. resident, being a 6th generation Bernalillo resident, and a lifelong registered parishioner at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. I have been married for over 20 years and have two children. My oldest child was a 2020 St. Pius X graduate and is now attending New Mexico State University. My youngest graduated from St. Pius X in 2022 and is currently attending Northern Arizona University, in Flagstaff, AZ. Both of my children are enjoying college and participating in Greek life. My husband and I are now empty nesters, so in my spare time, I enjoy cooking, gardening, raising chickens, and playing with my two dogs, Lana and Chapo.
I am excited to be part of the Holy Ghost family and thank you all for the warm welcome. I am eager to spend time on campus with staff, students, and families and am looking forward to finishing the school year strong.
Blessings,
Nichole Dominguez-Chávez
